The Nyika National Park is made up of rolling grassy hills surrounded by steep escarpments and interspersed with forested valleys.

The Nyika Plateau lies about 2000m above sea level and is a lovely region of rolling hills, forests and woodland - not to mention the stunning wildflowers that can be seen after the rains (the rainy season is from November to April). There are 120 species of orchid and the best time to visit this area is when they are flowering.
There park has antelope, zebras and monkeys. Walking safaris and horse riding safaris are very popular in Nyika. It is also a prime birdwatching destination, with hundreds of bird species residing in the National Park.
