Phinda Zuka Lodge lies within the 17 500-hectare / 43 240-acre Phinda Private Game Reserve, in the Maputaland region of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Phinda neighbours the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park - a World Heritage Site - to the east and is only 30km/19 miles due west of the white-fringed beaches of the Indian Ocean. Meaning sixpence in Zulu, Zuka Lodge offers guests a new experience of Phindas pristine wilderness.
Just four thatched Zululand bush cottages set 15 metres (50 feet) apart, featuring verandas overlooking a busy waterhole. Sitting areas feature built-in sofas which double as beds for parents travelling with children 5 years and younger. Air-conditioned bedrooms have fans and en suite bathrooms, with a circular stone bath chamber, double showers, separate w.c and twin hand basins.
The exclusive-use Phinda Zuka Lodge is perfect for families or groups of up to eight people.
Guest areas include an interactive café-style kitchen, intimate library with Internet access, and swimming pool with extended deck overlooking the waterhole where a diversity of wildlife is regularly seen. Deep verandas feature suspended wicker chairs.
